The Story Behind Control Your Days
Every book begins with an idea.
This one began with a question.
What if one thoughtful reflection each day could quietly change the way someone experiences life?
Years before this book existed, I found myself collecting thoughts, not because I planned to make them public, but because I didn't want to lose them, to forget them. Some came from conversations. Others emerged from difficult seasons, moments of uncertainty, quiet mornings, long walks, leadership experiences, and the timeless wisdom of authors, philosophers, and Christian thinkers who had profoundly influenced my perspective.
Later, while my wife and I were leading a group of young adults, those reflections found a purpose. Every week I prepared a short message, hoping it would encourage someone else. What I didn't expect was that those same reflections would begin changing me.
Over time, writing became more than a habit.
It became a way of slowing down long enough to understand life before rushing into the next responsibility.
Eventually, those weekly reflections became daily reflections.
Day after day, I discovered that people rarely needed another explanation. More often than not, they needed the right reminder at the right moment.
That simple realization became the foundation of this book.
Control Your Days was never intended to be read in a weekend and forgotten. It was designed to become a companion you return to throughout the year—a quiet place to pause, think, regain perspective, and prepare for whatever today brings.
Each reflection represents a small investment in the person you are becoming.
Not through dramatic change.
But through the quiet power of intentional days.
Because life is not transformed all at once.
It is transformed one thought, one decision, and one day at a time.
